There are many serious subjects my friend Brittany and I discuss during choir practice, ok – some subjects are very serious, potentially life changing, and others – umm – well, not so much, but they are serious to us at the time!
Shoe shopping. Our serious subject for last night.

Planting Seasons
It must be a planting season in my life! I'll start off by quoting our current memory verse, check me on it to hold me accountable:
Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love and break up your unplowed ground for it is time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12

Interruptions From My Heart
I know I promised to tell you more today about the people of Egypt and Joseph’s family getting to their food, but God interrupted that idea and I want to share what He taught me as I lay awake Monday night. This is a little longer than my typical post, but it is straight from my heart.

Something You May Want To Check Out
Let me start off by saying, I am NOT a Facebook hater! I think Facebook can be a very good thing, in fact, many of you read via my Facebook Fan page, and I so appreciate your reading. I am just very cautious about it. I know me way too well, and I know what it could do to or become in my life. I read a blog post and watched a video post that I thought was very good regarding Facebook and wanted to pass it along to anyone who might be interested in what was taught. Here's the link:

Don't Just Stand There, Do Something!
Picking up from our previous thoughts on Joseph, the famine is still in full force and it was fierce for the people in Egypt. It was so severe that it had also spread to the land of Canaan. Take a guess at who lived in the land of Canaan….

A New Name
I told you we were going to learn a little from the life of Joseph, and I did not lie to you!

Times of Famine
We recently spent several days together in Egypt with Moses, Aaron, and Pharaoh and there were lots of things to learn from Egypt. Now that we’ve moved out of Egypt, I want to back up in the story a bit, before this particular Pharaoh takes charge of Egypt. We’re turning back the pages of the biblical calendar to learn some things from Joseph, the same one with the coat of many colors.

Eager Dispensers
Along the hallways of the church my family and I attend, there are dispensers placed in strategic places that are filled with hand sanitizer. These dispensers were installed during the H1N1 scare to help decrease the spread of germs. There is one thing about these dispensers that has always been funny to me.

Pssst!!!
Hey Beyond Sunday Morning friends, I've got something to tell you. Come real close so you can hear me......
Testify Tuesday
Here's my Testify Tuesday, I hope you enjoy -
It had been a hectic day, one of those days where there just wasn't time to go home after work before the evening commitments began. As I sat in my husband's office with my oldest, we shared about our days. She updated me on the fifth grade drama. We talked about homework, library books, AR goals, etc.

Happy Valentine's Day
A day to celebrate those we love, that's what today is and I want all of my precious bloggy friends to know how much I love you. You are so precious to me and your continued reading of these posts bless me in ways that I can't explain. For those of you that I get to see face to face, your encouragement builds me up and I can't tell you what your words mean to my heart. I do not take this lightly and please know that the words that pour out over these keys are a daily valentine to you because I love you. For those of you that I don't see face to face, someday we will meet, if not on this earth, we will in Heaven and I can't wait to hug your Royal Princess necks!

Lessons for Departure
Have you ever taken a step or made a decision in your life only to panic once the action begins? You know - those times when our logic overrides our faith, and we begin to second guess the very things we were so certain of even a very short time ago? Thoughts race through our minds and we eventually ask ourselves “What was I thinking?”, our decision all of a sudden seems irrational.
I know I’ve been there, what about you?

Battle Resolve On the Way to Higher Places
If I had known what my drive home was going to be like on Monday afternoon, I would have been petrified to leave my house that morning. As the snow fell rapidly and road conditions quickly declined, I turned my little car in the direction of home for a drive that, on a normal day, takes about 15 minutes. Not this day. That fifteen minutes quickly transformed into a two hour journey as I slipped and slid up and down hills and around curves. It was not a fun experience, but like I said, if I had known what was to come, I would have been fearful all day long, possibly even never leaving the comforts of my home. Instead of fear that morning though, I left my house with a divide and conquer resolve toward the week. I guess you could say, for a Monday morning anyway, my head was held high, ready for battle.

Get Me Outta This Pressure Cooker!
Well, girls, the stomach bug has decided to make a visit to my house, and is a very unwelcome visitor. I am ready for this little visitor to pack his bags and move on! With that said, my post today will probably be short, besides being visited by this uninvited visitor myself, now one of my girls is laying on me and, you guessed it – her stomach hurts too.
So lets get to the subject for today – I’ll bet you’ll be surprised when I tell you it’s about Pharaoh….

Stinkin Thinkin
Yesterday I told you about Pharaoh and his putting things out of sight out of mind. His actions certainly did not have a positive outcome for him or for his people. God has been teaching me several things through the story of the exodus of the Israelites and I guess you can probably tell this is where I have landed in my One Year Chronological Bible over the past few days. There are lots of lessons weaved within this story for me to learn, and maybe they can help you too. I have another one for you today.
It’s about stinkin thinkin and what it does…..

Out of Sight, Out of Mind
“Out of sight, out of mind”, an old saying we’ve heard all of our lives, and for me it is often true. I have to keep things that need to be dealt with (like bills!) out where that I can see them so that I don’t forget about them.

Getting A Little Personal
We've got two more names to add to the Warrior Princess list - Camillia Madden, Peggy Taylor, and Julia Meyer! Wooo Hooo - I'm so proud of you girls.
If someone where to ask me who I am, in an effort to describe myself, I would probably give them a list beginning with my name, then adding all of the roles I fill. You would probably do the same. Those words we would list don’t really describe our character though, do they? They don’t define who we are, they normally list what we do.

Warrior Princess Wednesday
Congratulations to these Warrior Princesses for sharpening their swords and learning their first Godsword!:
Brittany Hicks
Amy Dotson
Mitzi Mason
Carla Offutt
Stacey Bridges
I’m sure I will hear from more of you today. There are still several of you out there who have told me you are memorizing, so I'm looking forward to hearing from you. I appreciate your participation in this with me, it encourages me so much.
Here's our new Godsword for this week:
Hope you enjoy this verse and can use it when you're up against temptation. One place I can use it is when tempted to eat a dozen cookies and know I shouldn't! That, my friends, is one place where I need a willing spirit!
Love you gals!

Here's our new Godsword for this week:
Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit. Psalms 51:12Did you know that the Word can be prayers offered to God? I need this verse as a prayer throughout my day. I really want to please Him with my life, but as most of you know, sometimes it’s just not easy. Temptations come and the next thing you know, you're right back where you started. I know what God's best is, however, many times my spirit is just not willing. When my spirit isn't willing, there is no joy. He can sustain us with a willing spirit and He can restore us with joy that comes straight from knowing we are saved and belong to Him. I want a willingness to obey Him. Not just obedience because I'm supposed to obey, but a willingness to obey Him that is produced from the joy of being His.
Hope you enjoy this verse and can use it when you're up against temptation. One place I can use it is when tempted to eat a dozen cookies and know I shouldn't! That, my friends, is one place where I need a willing spirit!
Love you gals!

Testify Tuesday
Girls, Girls, Girls - I must tell you about the power of your God, the power of my God. He just knocks me off my feet sometimes and most recently He knocked me off my feet while reading Job 38. Job had been suffering miserably for a great while and had come to a place of questioning God as a result of his despair. For a while God let him "vent", shall we say, but He didn't allow if for long until He gets the attention of Job and his friends.
