Testify Tuesday

Good morning everybody! This is the day that the Lord has made - let us rejoice and testify to His goodness on this Testify Tuesday. May our words be like Moses as he spoke the words of this song before Israel in Deuteronomy 32:

1 Listen, you heavens, and I will speak;
hear, you earth, the words of my mouth.
2 Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass,
like abundant rain on tender plants.

3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.

Here's my testimony for this week - He IS upright, He IS perfect, He IS faithful, just as this scripture says.  I saw an example of that faithfulness as I went through my day yesterday.  As I posted on Monday, we had a very touching and moving service at our church on Sunday.  I nailed many things to the cross and walked away from them to let them die and have been believing God for a resurrection since.  Not a resurrection of old garbage, a resurrection of something new and fresh.  As I drove to work yesterday morning, I saw evidence of that resurrection beginning.  I had my mind back for the first time in a long while, and I hadn't realized it was gone.  I did not realize how terribly burdened I had become by what would "happen next" and how burdened I had become with analyzing happenings in my mind.  God was central in my thoughts and not man.  My shoulders felt lighter and my heart hopeful for the first time in weeks and I can thank the faithfulness of my Abba Daddy for that.

Now, it's your turn to testify.  May your words be like those Moses spoke of - abundant rain on tender plants.  I can't wait to hear your stories.

  1. I read something last week that I want to share.

    "
The more deeply you walk with Christ, the hungrier you get for Christ... the more homesick you get for heaven... the more you want “all the fullness of God” ... the more you want to be done with sin... the more you want the Bridegroom to come again... the more you want the Church revived and purified with the beauty of Jesus... the more you want a great awakening to God’s reality in the cities... the more you want to seek the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ penetrate the darkness of all the unreached people of the world,.. the more you want to see false worldviews yield to the force of Truth... the more you want to see pain relieved and tears wiped away and death destroyed... the more you long for every wrong to be made right and the justice and grace of God to fill the earth like the waters cover the sea"

My testimony today is a celebration of being able to live out those words. The redemptive power of God's grace has been overflowing in my life, and I cannot contain it.

I want to share it with everyone who has an ear to hear it. He has taken me from death over into life.

God has taken those words above and has been applying them to my life every single day. I love Him so much, and as my friend Brett Glover said, "the more you know Him, the more you love Him," It makes you want to love Him and know Him more.

I've never experienced anything like it. He is rich in mercy and His grace is never-ending. He is infinitely perfect in ALL ways. Words cannot describe Him, He simply IS.

  2. I have to share what happened to me yesterday. Ayden has been sick for the last several weeks and ran a fever all weekend so we decieded it was time to see the doctor. As i called and made the appointment yesterday dollar signs ran through my mind as payday is not till the end of the week, his copay is $50 and usually a childs medication is not cheap. As we checked out his copay was only $30 and i had a credit at the office so i didn't have to pay for the visit. I then called to check with the pharmacy on the cost of the meds. Without insurance it was going to be over $200 and our insurance usually isn't that great so i decided we would get the antibiotic and the doctor had also prescribed sublingual steroids that were very expensive but she gave me a card for $30 off (again $30 imagine that) and cough medicine. We had cough medicine at home so we decided not to get that filled, the antibiotic with insurance ended up being $12 and the steroid ended up being $30 (hmmm) after insurance and then the card was for $30 off (wow) so that medicine ended up being FREE. Praise God!!! I don't know why I continue to worry about things cause he has shown me time and time again he is faithful and it is all in his hands. He is soooooo good!!!

  3. God makes everyone with a talent. He gives everyone of us special wants and desires for specific purposes. Saturday night we were talking after the upper room service about how amazing it is to watch Brett and Carrie (Husband and wife) lead worship together, and how much of a blessing that aspect is in and of itself is to us. I just want to testify of Gods awesomeness to create those desires inside us, and then faithfully, He shows us where He's called us to use them. Maybe not in the ways we originally thought, or WE had in mind for ourselves, but how He had planned. As we seek Him, His face, He unravels His path specially chosen for us.

I write this as have just gotten home from working at the kitchen. This is where God has called me. Some extra responsibilities were passed onto me a while back, and I had more growing in trust, and so many other areas during that part. God stretches me continually using the tools of the kitchen. When I could pass those responsibilities back, I missed them. How does that make sense? I went back to my one day a week, and had all this extra time, and could use it however I wanted, I wasnt the one to make calls, or go shopping, why did I miss it? I searched my thoughts on this, and its because God made my heart long for this...He created me to worship Him in this way, He gave this desire to me, and showed me how I was to use it.

Isnt that just a cool thought? I think so.
