How long has it been since you went out and just blew some bubbles? It relaxes me for some reason. I was thinking about blowing bubbles yesterday and how I can see God in even those. The solution is on the little wand, but without air breathed into it, it does nothing. It's just like me, I can accomplish nothing without Him breathing into me. What's fascinating is that one gentle breath scan send several bubbles floating off that wand at the same time. They are all a little different in size and they all travel to different places. Some burst and land right in from of me and some go several feet. Some even get caught in the breeze and I never see where they land. That's what happens when I let Him breathe himself into me. That very breath from His lungs is in each of those bubbles of my life and at some point, whether near or far, each one will burst and His breath will be able to touch someone else. I may never know it or see it happen, but I do know that eventually each one will pop and the contents will be spilled out.
That brings up a question. How closely do we watch what we allow to breathe into us? If every bubble will eventually pop, what message is floating out there to reach someone else?
I think Jesus would have liked to blow bubbles if they had been around! I say that because of John 20:21-22
"Jesus therefore saidto them again, 'Peace be with you; as the Father has sent me, I also send you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them 'Receive the Holy Spirit'."
How awesome is that!?! He breathed upon those 12 men gathered that day and look how far their bubbles have traveled, they have touched you and me.
O Lord, I invite you to breathe your Spirit in me today and I welcome the bubbles of my life to leave that little wand and go whereever you send them.
How 'bout blowing some bubbles today?
