It's Monday, and I know Monday's are difficult. Monday jerks us back to the reality of the demands upon our lives, leaving us with whiplash. Tension seems to automatically mount when the alarm goes off on Monday morning.
I completely understand.
That's why today I am giving you a homework assignment.
Now, before you click that little red "X" in the upper right hand corner of your screen, hear me out. You're probably thinking, "She just described the intenseness of Monday, and now she's expecting something ELSE from me when I am already at my max?!?!?." Trust me, this is homework you will be glad you completed.
Here is your assignment:
Take a 5 Minute Sabbath.
That's it.
A 5 Minute Sabbath.
What's that?
I'm so glad you asked.
A 5 Minute Sabbath is when you disconnect from everything but God for 5 minutes and rest.
No texting.
No Facebook.
No phone calls.
No emails.
No list making.
5 Minutes that you might at first think will be totally unproductive, but can I ask you to trust me one more time today, and try it?
Unplug.
Don't think about the laundry.
Don't think about the menu for dinner.
Don't think about the yard that needs to be mowed.
Don't read a book.
Think about nothing from this world.
Get by yourself.
Just you and God.
Let Him quiet your mind.
Let Him slow your pulse.
Let Him give you a deep breath.
Let Him have control of this 5 minutes.
After your Sabbath, please share with us what you and God did together. I would love to hear about each of your precious hearts being refreshed by Him. Tell us how this was the most productive unproductive 5 minutes of your day.
I trust it will be fabulous.
